A Brief History of the Town of Aurora

In 1804 the first merchant to be established at Yonge and Wellington, Richard Machell, became the cornerstone to the establishment of  the hamlet know as Machell’s Corners, the precursor to the modern day Town of Aurora.
Over the decades the hamlet grew.
