St. Patrick’s Day

A postcard with a painting of three colourfully dressed Irish people, one woman dancing barefoot in a green skirt on the left, one man in a green hat in the middle sitting on an overturned basket and playing a small flute, and a man in a green jacket on the right dancing while holding a clover in the air, all of whom are in front of a large suspended sheet with music notation on it, titled "Wearing the Green" and with lyrics printed between the staves.

We celebrate the Irish on every year on St. Patrick’s Day, perhaps a bit more rowdily than the folk pictured in this postcard from 1909 produced by Raphael Tuck & Sons titled simply “The Emerald Isle” (81.79.29).
