International Dog Day

A black and white photograph of 12 members of the Collis Leather Hockey team and a dog posing for a studio style group photo with five members standing in the back row, five members sitting in the middle row, and two members sitting on the floor in the front row with the dog sitting between them. Some of the members are wearing uniforms and holding hockey equipment such as gloves and hockey sticks. An oval cut out of the image is shown to the right of the photograph that shows a zoomed in look at the two team members and dog in the front row

In 1919, the Collis Leather hockey team (999.6) were the champions of the Aurora hockey league. Of course, when it came time to take the official team portrait, their loyal canine team mascot couldn’t be left out! Happy International Dog Day, August 26th!
