Children’s Sewing Machine

A black and nickel sewing machine, photographed on a white background.

Oil up the gears and wind the bobbin!

This children’s sewing machine (75.23.6) was manufactured by Singer and is made out of cast iron, which makes it very heavy. The company first launched their line of children’s sewing machines in 1910 and they were wildly popular. The machine was manual and young sewers would operate it by turning the hand crank wheel at the back.
